Should I buy a 2016–2023 Toyota Tacoma?
Buy it — but buy the right year and pay attention to recall history. The bones of this truck are excellent, which is why used prices stay stubborn. The 2016–2017 trucks carry the generation's baggage: three separate safety recalls (rear differential leak, crank position sensor, plus the worst of the transmission-software complaints) and the highest complaint counts by far.
